Description

At 3am, in the dark, with a baby finally settling, the last thing you want to do is wriggle around hunting for a comfortable position. The Harlow is Babyrest's answer to that: a nursery chair where the support moves to you, at the touch of a button, instead of you contorting to fit the chair.

Three separate powered adjustments handle the head, the neck and the lower back independently. A single-action recline brings the backrest and footrest down together in one smooth motion, and a one-touch home button sits you upright again when it is time to stand up with a sleeping baby in your arms.

It glides to settle, swivels 315 degrees so the change table and the bassinet are both within reach, and has USB-C and USB-A ports built into the frame. If you are comparing it against the rest of the range, see the Celeste Electric Nursery Chair or browse all electric recliner chairs.

Features
  • 3-way electronic adjustment. Recline, lumbar support and head and neck support each adjust independently.
  • Single-action recline. Backrest and footrest move together in one motion, to 134 degrees from the seat base (165 degrees from flat).
  • One-touch home button. Returns the chair gently to upright in a single tap.
  • Glide, swivel and recline. A gentle glide to settle, and a 315 degree swivel across both directions.
  • Highly adjustable head and neck support. Particularly useful while feeding, when the right head position is the difference between comfort and a stiff neck.
  • Cloud-soft headrest and backrest with ergonomic armrests shaped for feeding.
  • 150 kg weight capacity — 20 kg above the industry average.
  • USB-C and USB-A charging ports built into the chair.
  • 2.2 m power lead, so the chair does not have to live beside the power point.
  • Removable storage pocket in matching fabric for a book, phone or tablet. Lift it off entirely if you would rather go without.
  • INPAA approved.

Why parents love the Harlow

Feeding is not one position held for ten minutes. It is a slow series of small adjustments over forty-five minutes, usually one-handed, usually in the dark. Most nursery chairs give you a single recline lever and expect your body to do the rest. Harlow lets you move the lumbar support without moving the recline, or drop the headrest without losing your back position — which is exactly the kind of fine-tuning that matters when you are doing it six times a night.

The other quietly useful part is the 150 kg capacity. It means the chair is genuinely rated for two people, so a partner can sit in with you during a feed without anyone thinking twice about it.

FAQs

What is the difference between the Harlow and the Celeste?
Harlow adds independent powered adjustment of the head, neck and lumbar support, a one-touch home button, a 315 degree swivel and a 150 kg weight capacity. Celeste is the simpler electric recliner. Harlow is the more adjustable of the two.

Can two people sit in it?
It is rated to 150 kg, which is 20 kg above the industry average, so a partner sitting in during a feed is within the rating.

How much room does it need when reclined?
153 cm of depth fully reclined, versus 88 cm upright. Allow for that 65 cm of travel plus clearance behind if the chair sits near a wall.

Is it safe to fall asleep in the chair with my baby?
No. Falling asleep on a recliner, sofa or armchair while holding an infant is a recognised sleep risk. If you feel drowsy, put your baby down on their back in their own cot or bassinet.

Does it need to be near a power point?
The lead is 2.2 m, which usually gives you enough reach. Babyrest also sell a battery pack for cord-free positioning, though it is currently specified for the Celeste and Alora chairs rather than Harlow — check compatibility before ordering.

How do I clean it?
Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent. No bleach or harsh chemicals. Vacuum regularly with a soft brush attachment, and have it professionally cleaned for deep stains. Keep it out of direct sunlight.

What warranty does it come with?
3 years on the frame and fabrics, 1 year on the electrical components.
