Description

The one thing that decides where an electric nursery chair lives is usually the power point. Which is how you end up with a beautiful chair pushed into the one corner nobody wants to sit in, and a cord running across the floor of a room a toddler is about to learn to walk in.

This battery pack solves that. It plugs in between the chair and nothing at all, and the chair works exactly as it did — recline, glide, the lot — from wherever you would actually like to sit. A single charge covers over 200 reclines, so most families charge it every few weeks and forget about it.

It also works as backup power: leave it connected between the chair and the wall and it simply tops itself up, keeping the chair working through a blackout. Compatible with the Celeste Electric Nursery Chair and the Alora Electric Nursery Chair — browse the full range of nursing and rocking chairs.

Features
  • Freedom to move. Position your nursery chair anywhere in the room, with no power outlet nearby and no cord across the floor.
  • Plug and play. Nothing to configure and no technical knowledge needed.
  • Over 200 reclines per full charge.
  • Battery status indicator so you know when it needs charging, rather than finding out mid-feed.
  • Multi-mode operation. Use it as a standalone battery, or leave it plugged into mains power as a backup supply.
  • Compact. 14 x 4 x 7.5 cm with a short 14 cm cable, so it tucks away under the chair.
  • RCM compliant for Australian electrical safety.

Why parents love the battery pack

The honest reason this gets bought is room layout. Nurseries are small, the cot goes on the wall without the window, the dresser takes the next wall, and the only spot left for the chair is nowhere near a socket. Rather than rearranging the room around an extension lead, you charge a battery every few weeks.

The second reason is quieter: no cord. Once a baby is crawling, a lead running from a chair to a wall is one more thing to think about. This removes it.

FAQs

Which chairs does it fit?
Babyrest specify it for the Celeste and Alora electric nursery chairs. It is not currently listed as compatible with the Harlow, so check with us before ordering if you have a Harlow.

How long does a charge last?
Over 200 reclines. For most families that is several weeks of normal use between charges.

How long does it take to charge?
Around 8 hours from flat on the first charge.

Can I leave it plugged into the wall all the time?
Yes. In that mode it sits between the chair and the power point and acts as backup power, so the chair keeps working if the power goes out.

What happens if I don't use it for a few months?
Charge it every 3 months regardless. Leaving a lithium-ion cell fully discharged for long periods can damage it permanently and is not covered by warranty.

How long will the battery itself last?
Around 5 years under normal use. The warranty period is 1 year.

Is it safe around children?
Keep it out of reach, do not let it be dropped or knocked about, and do not cover it while it is charging. It is an indoor-use item only.
