Who the Kona is for
The Kona suits parents who find a full-size pram too big for daily life, but a travel pram too small to use every day. UPPAbaby designed it for tight city spaces, quick car-to-pram changes and busy routines.

It is a good fit if you:
- Live in an apartment or townhouse and need a pram that is easy to lift and store
- Drive often and want something that goes in and out of the boot quickly
- Want one pram from birth to toddler instead of buying a full-size pram and a travel pram
- Want premium UPPAbaby comfort and a big basket without the weight of a Vista
It is not the right pick if you need a double. The Kona is a single pram only. For a growing family, the Vista V3 converts to a double with a RumbleSeat.
Kona vs Vista V3 vs Cruz V3 vs Minu V3
The Kona is the middle of the range: smaller and easier to handle than the Vista and Cruz, roomier and more substantial than the Minu.
| Pram | Size | From birth | Converts to double | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vista V3 | Full-size | Yes, bassinet included | Yes, with RumbleSeat | Growing families, maximum storage |
| Cruz V3 | Full-size, slimmer | Yes, with bassinet | No | Full-size comfort in a narrower frame |
| Kona | Mid-size | Yes, seat fully reclined | No | Everyday city and car use |
| Minu V3 | Compact travel | Yes, with accessories | No | Travel and small boots |
Quick pick: choose the Vista if a second baby is likely soon. Choose the Minu if you mainly travel or fly. Choose the Kona if you want one pram that handles daily life from birth, without full-size bulk.

How to set up the Kona from birth
There are three ways to use the Kona with a newborn. Pick the one that matches how you get around.
- Use the seat, fully reclined. The Kona seat is suitable from birth in its most reclined position. This is the simplest, lowest-cost option for walks and errands.
- Add the UPPAbaby Bassinet for a flat sleep space. The bassinet clicks straight onto the Kona frame with no adapters. Choose this if baby will nap in the pram on long walks.
- Click in a capsule for a travel system. UPPAbaby Aria and Mesa capsules attach directly, so you can move a sleeping baby from the car to the pram without unbuckling. Other capsule brands need adapters.
As baby grows, switch to the seat in parent-facing mode, then turn it to face the world once they are curious and sitting well.
